A request to commence engagement on a proposed merger between Health Care First, Park View Surgery and Queen Street Surgery has been approved by the Primary Care Commissioning Committee of NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group.
The proposal to merge is aimed at reducing the administrative and financial burden of managing three separate contracts.
The proposed merger would not affect how patients experience care or access services at any of the sites and there would be no change in opening hours. There would also be no change to staffing, the practice boundaries or the current location of the surgeries. The only change will be to contractual arrangements.
The time and costs saved in managing the separate contracts will be reinvested to improve services.
Now that the request to commence engagement has been approved, we will be seeking the views of the patient participation group, patients, staff, the local communities, and other stakeholders about the proposal.
Please be assured that all comments and feedback will be taken on board.
In the meantime, we are always here for clarity on anything you may be concerned or worried about, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
